Chapter 1: The Offer

As the Miami sun dipped behind the city skyline, casting a warm orange glow through the floor-to-ceiling windows of her penthouse, Simone sat at the marble island in the kitchen, phone pressed to ear. The ocean breeze smelled salty and alive, carrying the promise of the weekend ahead. She wore a black silk number that clung to every curve, the fabric whispering against her thighs as she moved.

The line was static for a beat before Nasir's deep voice cut through, familiar and magnetic even over the distance. "Where are you, baby?" His tone was playful, almost casual, but Simone knew better than anyone the edge that lurked beneath.

She glanced out at Biscayne Bay, watching yachts disappear into the twilight. "Nowhere special. Just sitting here waiting for my man to show up."

A sharp intake of breath on the other end. Nasir didn't like being kept hanging, and neither did Simone. "Where is he?"

She let her gaze drift over the polished wood countertops, lingering on a framed photograph of her and Marcus years ago. "He's out with the boys. You know how it is."

Silence for several beats. Then, when she thought he was about to push again, Simone cut him off. "Look, I'm not asking you to do anything tonight, Nasir. But I wanted you to know that if you're free tomorrow, I'd love to see you."

The line went dead before she could hear his response. She clicked end on her phone, resting it on the granite countertop. The digital screen reflected the warm ambient light, but Simone didn't look at it. She looked out at the city instead, her mind already racing.

It was pure dominance, that little game she was playing with both men—pulling strings, testing boundaries, watching their minds battle. With Nasir, it was power and respect. With Marcus, it was compersion and deep, fierce love. She loved every damn moment of it.

The sound of heels on the marble floor drew her attention. The door to the master bedroom stood ajar, revealing Marcus standing just inside, his silhouette outlined by the dim red lighting. He wore dark pants and a fitted black shirt, the fabric already creased where he'd been pacing.

Their eyes locked instantly, that deep, magnetic connection that never failed to ground her no matter how much she pushed it. "Did you call him?"
