Scent of Surrender
She picked up her phone off the bed, unlocked it with a swipe, and handed it to him on the nightstand. Trey's fingers skimmed over the screen as he read the text: "Your man is at Club Miami tonight. Keep an eye on him for me."
She watched his face—the tension, the curiosity, the surrender. Kiana loved every damn inch of that reaction. She leaned against the headboard, folding her arms across her chest. "Do you like knowing that another woman has power over your man, baby?"
Trey's breath hitched. He was fighting between compersion and dominance, his mind caught in a storm of erotic tension. "I don't like it at all, but I know it's just business. It doesn't change who you belong to."
She smiled, the sight of his vulnerability driving her wild. "That's my boy. You're always my boy, no matter what. Now go look at that man and tell me everything he's doing."
Chapter 2: Scent in the Club
The air in Miami is thick with sultry anticipation as Trey steps through the opulent glass doors of Breathe, his wife Kiana's private club. The dim ambient lighting, the soft purr of an industrial ventilation system, and the faint scent of salt water make it easy to forget that he's not here for the VIP lounge.
His heart hammers in his chest as he scans the crowded room, the lights reflecting off polished wooden floors and polished male egos. The sight of his wife's rival, Dwayne, standing at the bar with a group of admirers, is pure electric poison. Trey clenches his jaw, fighting the storm of emotions raging inside him—protective fury, territorial heat, and deep compersion knowing that Kiana is watching right now.
That's when he sees her: their queen, perched on a high stool at the adjacent bar, watching the whole scene with sharp, calculating interest. The sight of his wife's dark approval is both a balm and a fire. He walks over to her, his footsteps muffled by the carpet.
She doesn't even turn when he steps beside her. "You're enjoying this, baby," she purrs, her voice warm and seductive despite the tension in the room.
Trey closes his eyes for a moment, breathing in her signature perfume—a heady blend of vanilla and musk that drives him wild. When he opens his eyes, he meets her gaze directly. "I wouldn't have it any other way," he says, his voice hoarse with the knowledge that she's watching him watch their enemy.
